Finding Sanctuary in the Everyday
Creating a life that values craft over speed requires a conscious choice. When we left the frenzy of city life behind, we found our sanctuary on a half-acre of Florida soil. The weathered mid-century home, once rough around the edges, became a canvas for transformation, teaching us patience, persistence, and reverence for simplicity.
Mornings in our sanctuary are measured by the changing light, and evenings descend with the scent of cooling earth. Every home repair or upgrade and every planted seed deepens our sense of belonging. The Handmade Life isn’t just about what we make—it’s about how we inhabit our days, allowing creativity to grow alongside our home and garden.
Our studio, nestled close to both garden and kitchen, embodies this philosophy. Here, lost wax casting and silversmithing are guided by fire and focus. Each piece tells a story, carrying the pulse of a life that honors artistry as inseparable from living. The tactile, meditative nature of making becomes a pathway to presence and mindfulness.
The land outside nurtures both body and imagination. From Zinnias, herbs, tomatoes and watermelon to loofah sponges for clay work, every element of our homestead informs the work we create. The Handmade Life teaches that inspiration is not separate from daily living—it grows directly from the soil we cultivate and the time we devote to observation and care.
